Sri Lanka Conservation & Sustainability Internship
Step into the heart of Sri Lanka’s Central Province and immerse yourself in the breathtaking village of Pussellayaya, where lush forests, pristine rivers, and vibrant wildlife come together to create a truly unforgettable experience. This hands-on internship offers a unique opportunity to engage with local communities, contribute to biodiversity conservation, and learn about sustainable living practices in one of the world’s most captivating natural settings.
Over the course of three weeks, participants will:
- ✅ Explore RichBiodiversity – Survey flora, fauna, and bird species while building a research database. Discover the stunning Knuckles Mountain Range and witness first-hand the diverse ecosystems of Sri Lanka.
- ✅ AddressHuman–Elephant Conflict – Work alongside experts using field techniques such as camera traps and data collection to better understand and mitigate this pressing conservation challenge.
- ✅ SupportSustainable Development – Learn how eco-tourism and community initiatives create harmony between people and nature. Gain insights into traditional practices, sustainable gem mining, and rural livelihoods.
- ✅ Engage inEnvironmental Restoration – Participate in biodiversity assessments, environmental impact management projects, and wildlife monitoring in Wasgamuwa National Park.
- ✅ CulturalImmersion – Live at the Web of Life Eco Center, share in the traditions of local villages, and experience the warmth of Sri Lankan hospitality while making a real difference for conservation.
This program blends adventure, education, and impact, making it perfect for students, conservation enthusiasts, and nature lovers eager to contribute to environmental protection while exploring one of the world’s most biodiverse regions.

Requirements:
- 18 years or older.
- Just a person who's Eager to learn about conservation and immerse themselves in the Sri Lankan culture.
Dates:
- February–November (transportation is not included in the price, it all depends on the number of students).
- You MUST arrive at the program on Saturday; it starts on Mondays.
Program Rates:
- 1 week: $1,500
- 2 weeks: $2,000
- 3 weeks: $2,500
Additional person: $1,000
Your stay includes comfortable accommodation and three freshly prepared meals each day — all made from ingredients harvested right here on the property.
The program is designed for a maximum of four students per week, ensuring personalized attention and a close connection with nature and the community.
Participants should plan to arrive on Saturday or Sunday, as the program officially begins on Monday.
Not Included: Airfare and airport transfer (however, we’ll gladly assist with organizing it).
